In Canada, kinesiology is a professional designation as well as an area of study. The province of Ontario has regulated Kinesiologists under the Regulated Health Professions Act, with the scope officially defined as, "the assessment of human movement and performance and its rehabilitation and management to maintain, rehabilitate or enhance movement and performance". Kinesiologists work in a variety of roles as a regulated health professional. With Walsh and Associates, the services have been molded to monopolize on the skills associated with ergonomics, return to work, wellness, safety, and associated policy/program developed. Kinesiologists are uniquely skilled: to bridge communications between the worker, employer, health care provider and union; to build return to work plans, worksite accommodations, job shadowing; to develop injury prevention and wellness programs; to document with concrete evidence the demands of the work and provide science based recommendations to improve the work demands. We have a regulatory college and an active association.
